"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV)
Recap
Prayer Series Part 1: Seeing Past the Door. The Potential of Prayer.
Whenever we pray, we always keep the principle found in John 14:13 in mind.
John 14:13, "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
Sometimes God's answer to our prayer is "yes". Sometimes "no". Sometimes "wait".
Paul dealt with a "no":
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:8, 9 NIV)
Our main scripture from Sunday was: Matthew 7:7-11 NIV (Click here to read)
1. Ask. Make the Request.
2. Seek. Look for the Answer.
3. Knock. Open the Door.
You have the key of prayer in your hand. What good gifts are waiting for you behind the door as we turn the key?
Question for Reflection
What motivates you to keep praying for a request even when you haven't received an answer yet?
I welcome your comments and thoughts.
